Tips for the best result

  • Photograph the print flat

    Lay it on a table near a window, hold the phone straight above it, and turn off the flash to avoid glare.

  • Crop the edges

    Crop away the table and the white border before uploading so the AI focuses on the picture.

  • Keep your original

    Restoration is a best guess at lost detail. Keep the scan of the original alongside it.

Can I restore old photos for free?

Sign in with Google and your first 5 photos are free. After that, each photo uses one credit from the Flashbae app.

How does colorizing work?

The AI recognises skin, clothing, sky and plants and gives them natural, period-appropriate colours. It's an interpretation: the real colours of the day can't be known.

Will it change people's faces?

It sharpens and repairs faces but is told to keep them exactly as they are. Badly damaged faces are rebuilt from what's left, so compare with the original.

What about torn or folded photos?

Tears, creases, scratches, dust and stains are all repaired. Missing corners are filled to match.

Are my photos private?

Your photo is sent to our AI image model only to make your result. The upload isn't kept, the model isn't trained on it, and only you can see the result in My photos, where you can delete it.
